Omor Ekushey Boi Mela "Immortal Book Fair of the Twenty-first (of February)" has been started from 18 March 2021. In this year book fair has been delayed for covid-19 infection. It has been started from 18 March instead of 01 February. The book fair will be continue till on 14 April 2021.

Every year in February the book fair helds at Bangla Academy for one month around February. The book fair starts from 1st February and continue till on February 28.Arrangement of the fair was processed at the end of January. In 1983, Mr. Manzur-I-Mawla, the formar director general (DG) of Bangla Academy had taken decision to start a book fair and he had failed in that year. But later the the book fair was started from 1984 with named "Omor Ekushe Boi Mela".

Name of book fair has been taken on the memory of language movement in 21 February 1952.
