Job Context

• This position is a mid-level administrative and logistics management role responsible for overseeing the university’s transport operations. The Assistant Director (Transport) will manage vehicle operations, vendor coordination, cost control, and transport safety to ensure smooth and efficient mobility services for students, faculty, and staff.

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise overall university transport operations and vehicle management
• Monitor daily transport schedules, routes, and vehicle utilization
• Maintain transport records including logbooks, challans, and gate passes
• Ensure timely transportation services for students, faculty, and staff
• Track and control transport-related costs and support budget optimization
• Prepare MIS reports and daily/weekly transport performance updates
• Coordinate with transport vendors and external service providers
• Ensure compliance with university transport policies and safety standards
• Handle emergency transport arrangements when required
• Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and service quality
• Build and maintain strong relationships with drivers, vendors, and stakeholders
• Use data analysis (Excel/MIS) to improve efficiency and decision-making
• Ensure smooth coordination between transport office and university departments

• Master of Business Administration (MBA) in in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics or related discipline
