Job Description
  • This position is responsible for managing the overall operations of the hospital canteen, ensuring quality food service, hygiene compliance, inventory management, budgeting, and staff supervision. The role requires strong leadership, operational management, and customer service skills to maintain efficient canteen services for students, faculty members, hospital staff, visitors, and patients.

    Responsibilities & Context
  • Oversee daily canteen operations, food preparation, and service activities
  • Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards are maintained
  • Supervise, train, and manage kitchen and service staff
  • Prepare staff schedules and assign daily responsibilities
  • Monitor employee performance and maintain workplace discipline
  • Enforce proper food handling, cooking, and storage procedures
  • Conduct regular inspections of kitchen equipment and dining facilities
  • Plan nutritious and cost-effective menus
  • Manage inventory of food supplies and kitchen materials
  • Coordinate with vendors and negotiate procurement costs
  • Monitor stock levels and minimize wastage
  • Prepare and manage canteen budgets and operational expenses
  • Ensure reasonable pricing as directed by management
  • Handle customer complaints and service-related feedback
  • Maintain records of inventory, billing, attendance, and vendor payments
  • Coordinate with hospital and institutional management teams
  • Support special events, academic programs, and emergency situations
  • Perform additional duties assigned by management
