Job Description

This position is a senior legal role in a non-banking financial institution (NBFI), responsible for overseeing legal compliance, litigation management, and regulatory advisory functions. The role requires strong expertise in financial laws, banking regulations, and corporate legal frameworks. The candidate will work closely with management to ensure legal risk control, policy compliance, and effective handling of legal disputes related to financial operations.

Responsibilities & Context

Oversee all legal matters of the organization, including litigation and advisory functions

Handle cases under Artha Rin Adalat Ain and other financial laws

Ensure compliance with Bangladesh Bank regulations and financial institution laws

Draft, review, and vet legal documents, contracts, and agreements

Manage cases related to loan recovery, default, and financial disputes

Provide legal opinion on corporate, banking, and financial transactions

Coordinate with external lawyers, courts, and regulatory bodies

Represent the organization in legal proceedings when required

Monitor changes in financial and corporate laws and update internal policies

Support management in legal risk assessment and mitigation strategies

Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of legal records

Perform any other legal and compliance duties assigned by management
