Job Description
  • Aalok Healthcare & Hospital is seeking qualified Medical Officers for its Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Aalok Mother & Child Care. The Medical Officer will provide clinical care to critically ill pediatric patients, conduct patient assessments, maintain accurate medical records, and support the PICU team during scheduled shifts. The position requires an MBBS degree, hospital experience, sound clinical judgment, and strict compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, documentation, and hospital management guidelines.

    Responsibilities & Context
  • Assess critically ill pediatric patients through detailed history-taking and physical examination.
  • Monitor patients’ clinical conditions and identify any significant changes or complications.
  • Support the diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of PICU patients under appropriate clinical supervision.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, timely, and legally compliant clinical records.
  • Record observations, treatment updates, investigations, and patient progress.
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies and assist with urgent clinical interventions.
  • Follow prescriptions, treatment plans, and instructions provided by senior medical professionals.
  • Communicate patient updates clearly to consultants, nurses, coordinators, and other clinical team members.
  • Follow infection prevention and control protocols and all patient safety guidelines.
  • Prepare and submit incident reports when required.
  • Participate in clinical audits, report analysis, professional training, and Continuous Medical Education activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional and ethical medical standards.
  • Perform 48 hours of duty per week according to the hospital’s shifting roster.
  • Report to the Medical Coordinator, Deputy Director, or Hospital Director.
  • Perform other clinical or administrative duties assigned by hospital management.
