Job Description
  • Oxford International School is seeking an experienced Chemistry Teacher for its Senior School section. The selected teacher will deliver Chemistry lessons under the Cambridge International Curriculum, including IGCSE and AS/A Level. The role requires strong subject knowledge, effective classroom management, structured lesson planning, student assessment, academic reporting, and regular communication with parents. The teacher will also work with school leadership to maintain Cambridge academic standards and improve student performance.

    Responsibilities & Context
  • Plan and deliver engaging Chemistry lessons for IGCSE and AS/A Level students.
  • Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work, assessments, and teaching materials.
  • Ensure timely completion of the prescribed Cambridge syllabus.
  • Explain Chemistry concepts clearly through practical examples and suitable teaching methods.
  • Assess students through classwork, homework, tests, examinations, and practical activities.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive academic feedback.
  • Maintain accurate academic records, reports, attendance, and assessment documentation.
  • Analyze student performance data and identify areas requiring improvement.
  • Communicate with parents regarding student progress, performance, and academic concerns.
  • Create a supportive, disciplined, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet different student learning needs.
  • Follow Cambridge curriculum standards, school policies, and academic best practices.
  • Collaborate with teachers, coordinators, and school leadership on academic planning.
  • Participate in meetings, training sessions, school activities, and professional development.
  • Perform other academic and administrative responsibilities assigned by the line manager or supervisor.
