Job Description
  • China Harbour Engineering Co. Ltd. (CHEC) is urgently hiring an experienced Deputy Project Manager / Construction Manager for its Maldives port construction project. The position will be based at the Hulhumalé Island & Port Construction Site, Maldives, with a strong focus on jetty, port, coastal, ocean, and marine construction works.
  • The ideal candidate should have 10–15 years of overall construction experience, including significant hands-on experience in jetty, port, marine, coastal, dredging, or offshore construction projects. Candidates with strong jetty construction experience will receive preference.

    Responsibilities & Context
  • Manage day-to-day construction activities for jetty, port, marine, and coastal works.
  • Plan and supervise construction methods, manpower, equipment, materials, and resources.
  • Prepare construction plans, method statements, and technical briefings.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and technical teams.
  • Monitor project progress, quality, productivity, and construction schedules.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and resolve technical and site-related issues.
  • Review engineering drawings, quantities, specifications, and construction requirements.
  • Supervise local subcontractors and construction teams.
  • Verify completed quantities and support measurement, variation, and commercial activities.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly construction progress reports.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, particularly for marine and offshore activities.
  • Coordinate with geotechnical and survey teams and optimize construction methods according to site conditions.
  • Ensure construction activities are completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications.
