Job Description
  • Population Services and Training Center (PSTC) is implementing a national baseline study on Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) across Dhaka, Barishal, Khulna and Mymensingh Divisions. The Field-based Research Assistant will support quantitative and qualitative data collection involving children at risk, CSEC survivors, parents/caregivers, government officials and other stakeholders. The position is temporary for approximately 30–45 working days during October–November 2026.

    Responsibilities & Context
  • Conduct structured interviews with adult respondents and relevant stakeholders in field settings.
  • Administer surveys with street-connected children at designated safe spaces or appropriate locations.
  • Distribute referral coupons and accurately track recruitment chains and peer-network information.
  • Conduct structured observations and record findings using designated checklists.
  • Conduct semi-structured interviews with child survivors of CSEC.
  • Facilitate Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with parents and caregivers.
  • Conduct Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) with police, prosecutors, judges, DSS officials, legal-aid providers and NGO/CSO representatives.
  • Audio-record qualitative interviews only after obtaining participant consent.
  • Support accurate transcription and Bangla/English translation of qualitative interviews when required.
  • Follow informed consent and child assent procedures strictly.
  • Ensure child safeguarding, confidentiality and trauma-informed engagement throughout data collection.
  • Submit complete and accurate survey data through the designated digital platform on a daily basis.
