Job Description
  • Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is recruiting a Media Liaison Officer for its Chattogram Urban Dengue Response project. The role focuses on field-level communications, media relations, digital engagement, media monitoring, content production, and supporting risk communication and rumor management. The officer will work closely with project teams and local authorities in a highly localized political and media environment.

    Responsibilities & Context
  • Produce and disseminate communication content for local digital channels.
  • Proactively pitch stories and information to local and national media.
  • Maintain relationships with journalists, bloggers, photographers, producers, cameramen and influencers.
  • Manage incoming media requests related to the Chattogram Urban Dengue Project.
  • Help organize press briefings, press conferences and media visits.
  • Identify suitable communication tools for target audiences and produce or adapt content accordingly.
  • Supervise external providers producing multimedia materials, posters, leaflets, videos, photos and radio spots.
  • Ensure all communication materials follow MSF ethical and communication guidelines.
  • Monitor local media and digital channels and identify significant trends, news and reports.
  • Track public narratives and prepare reports on the local media and digital landscape.
  • Support real-time digital/media monitoring when required.
  • Contribute to communication strategies and tactics and report on campaign outcomes.
  • Provide advice on media and digital engagement during crises.
  • Support MSF staff with communication principles, practices and materials.
