Partners in Health and Development (PHD) is seeking an experienced Nurse to provide specialized neonatal nursing care at the Special Care Newborn Unit (SCANU) of District Hospital, Cox’s Bazar, under the ISO project funded by the Government of Bangladesh and the World Bank. The role focuses on caring for sick and premature newborns, monitoring and stabilizing patients, administering treatment, maintaining infection-control standards, supporting emergency care, and ensuring accurate clinical documentation and reporting. Candidates with 2–3 years of nursing experience, particularly in NICU, SCANU, or NSU services, will be preferred.

Responsibilities & Context
Assess incoming newborns, determine eligibility, admit patients to SCANU, and initiate appropriate care protocols.
Monitor newborns’ temperature, heart rate, respiratory status, oxygen saturation, and feeding tolerance.
Provide neonatal nursing care according to approved national protocols, including thermal care, feeding support, antibiotic administration, and fluid management.
Maintain strict aseptic techniques, hand hygiene, instrument sterilization, and environmental safety within SCANU.
Monitor and manage the consumption of medicines, medical supplies, and nutrition commodities using prescribed documentation tools.
Identify signs of patient deterioration and promptly escalate concerns to physicians or senior nurses.
Assist doctors during ward rounds, medical examinations, and post-operative patient care.
Assist medical doctors with history taking, physical measurements, treatment, medication management, and dispensing.
Provide nursing care to SCANU patients and perform roster duties to support 24/7 services.
Maintain infection prevention and control (IPC) standards across all service areas.
Maintain accurate patient registers, monitoring charts, treatment records, and other required documentation.
Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, ad hoc, incident, and performance reports.
Ensure proper documentation of patient treatment and related clinical information.
Quantify SCANU logistics and coordinate ordering to prevent shortages of essential supplies.
Participate in SCANU oversight meetings, clinical sessions, and service-quality monitoring activities.
Support patient referral and transportation to higher-level facilities with proper documentation.
