Job Description
  • Partners in Health and Development (PHD) is seeking qualified and experienced Midwives for its Model Urban PHC (Aalo Clinics) Project in Dhaka and Gazipur. The role is responsible for providing comprehensive maternal and newborn care, including antenatal and postnatal care, normal vaginal delivery, pregnancy and labor management, basic emergency obstetric and neonatal care, and referral of complicated cases. The position requires a minimum of 2–3 years of professional midwifery experience and proven experience conducting at least 300 normal vaginal deliveries independently.

    Responsibilities & Context
  • Perform antenatal care (ANC) and postnatal care (PNC) for pregnant women at Aalo Clinics.
  • Assess the general condition and progress of pregnancy for normal vaginal delivery.
  • Independently conduct uncomplicated normal vaginal deliveries (NVD).
  • Provide pre-natal, peri-natal, and post-natal care according to approved standards.
  • Provide appropriate pharmacological management during pregnancy and labor.
  • Perform medical induction of labor when required.
  • Identify high-risk pregnancies and danger signs and consult with the GP when necessary.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records of pregnancy-related care and physical findings.
  • Effectively use partographs, fetal monitors, and other relevant clinical equipment.
  • Provide basic emergency obstetric care (EmOC) and essential neonatal care.
  • Perform newborn resuscitation and provide appropriate newborn management.
  • Perform duties according to the assigned roster.
  • Identify and manage pregnancy-related complications and ensure timely referral to appropriate facilities.
  • Coordinate with GPs and other clinical staff for effective management of pregnancy and labor.
