Job Description
  • The University of Science and Technology Chittagong (USTC) is seeking a talented, energetic, and self-motivated Lab Officer for the Faculty of Life Science, including the Departments of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering. The role involves supporting laboratory teaching, conducting lab sessions, maintaining equipment and inventory, assessing students, managing laboratory safety and accreditation documentation, and assisting faculty members with academic and administrative laboratory activities.

    Responsibilities & Context
  • Assist faculty members in conducting laboratory classes and preparing experiment lists.
  • Conduct lab sessions and support the preparation of laboratory examinations.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve laboratory equipment to ensure proper functionality.
  • Evaluate and grade laboratory reports and provide feedback to students.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of laboratory equipment and chemicals.
  • Update laboratory safety records and prepare documentation required for accreditation bodies.
  • Support examination and admission activities and perform other duties assigned by faculty members or the department authority.
