Job Description
  • The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is seeking an Assistant Communication Specialist to support communication activities for its Cox’s Bazar programme. The role focuses on developing and implementing communication plans, producing digital and multimedia content, supporting media and donor communication, managing social media activities, ensuring compliance with FAO communication standards, and strengthening the visibility of FAO projects and field operations.

    Responsibilities & Context
  • Develop and support the implementation of communication and content plans in line with FAO corporate guidelines and programme priorities.
  • Coordinate with country, regional, headquarters, and project teams to ensure consistency, approval, and quality of communication materials.
  • Produce human-interest stories, factsheets, progress briefs, photographs, videos, and other multimedia content highlighting FAO projects and impact.
  • Support communication and visibility activities for field visits, donor missions, programme launches, high-level events, and emergency situations.
  • Review reports and external communication materials to ensure consistent messaging, accurate branding, and compliance with FAO standards.
  • Manage social media content, prepare monthly content calendars, monitor engagement, trends, risks, and provide performance reports with relevant KPIs.
  • Maintain media and donor-facing communication, upload approved multimedia content to FAO platforms, and perform other communication-related duties assigned by the supervisor.
