Job Description
  • This role plays an essential frontline function in molecular diagnostics, ensuring the delivery of precise, high-throughput PCR-based diagnostic testing services. Operating within a dedicated molecular pathology environment, it demands strict adherence to biosafety measures and contamination-control protocols. The position involves handling critical patient specimens through all diagnostic stages, from pre-analytical sample preparation to final nucleic acid amplification.

    Responsibilities & Context
  • Specimen Processing & Extraction: Receive, verify, and prepare clinical specimens, performing manual and automated DNA/RNA extraction protocols in strict aseptic conditions.
  • PCR Setup & Amplification: Prepare master mixes, assemble reaction plates, and operate real-time PCR (qPCR) instrumentation in accordance with established standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Data Analysis & Interpretation: Analyze amplification curves, Ct values, and run baselines to interpret diagnostic results and identify any analytical abnormalities.
  • Quality Control & Assurance: Run internal controls, negative extraction controls, and reference standards with every assay batch to validate run validity and prevent false results.
  • Equipment Maintenance & Calibration: Perform daily cleaning, periodic calibration, and routine maintenance of thermal cyclers, pipettes, centrifuges, and biosafety cabinets.
  • Contamination Control: Strictly adhere to unidirectional laboratory workflows (clean, extraction, amplification areas) and decontaminate work zones routinely to prevent amplicon carryover.
