Job Description
  • This role serves as a crucial technical cornerstone, bridging early conceptual architectural designs with buildable, code-compliant construction realities. Working within an ACA (Association of Consultant Architects) framework, the position demands exceptional technical drafting, BIM proficiency, and an intimate understanding of modern construction methodologies. It involves translating design briefs into comprehensive technical drawing packages, robust detailing, and coordinated specifications suitable for statutory approval and contractor procurement. Regular multidisciplinary collaboration with project architects, structural engineers, MEP consultants, and local planning authorities is vital to mitigate spatial clashes and design risk

    Responsibilities & Context
  • Technical Drafting & Detailing: Produce accurate architectural construction drawings, assemblies, junction details, and schedules using advanced CAD and BIM (Revit/ArchiCAD) software.
  • BIM & Model Coordination: Manage multi-disciplinary BIM models, run regular clash detection audits, and resolve spatial conflicts between architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.
  • Statutory & Building Regulation Compliance: Ensure all working drawings, specifications, and layout plans fully comply with national building codes, planning permissions, accessibility standards, and fire safety laws.
  • Specification & Schedule Development: Prepare comprehensive technical specifications, finishes schedules, door and window schedules, and material performance requirements for tender packages.
  • Consultant & Contractor Liaison: Coordinate regularly with structural engineers, building service consultants, quantity surveyors, and contractors to ensure clear communication of technical details.
  • Site Inspections & Technical Problem-Solving: Attend regular site visits to assess ongoing construction quality against technical packages, resolving unexpected technical site queries and Requests for Information (RFIs).
