  • Job Context
  • This strategic leadership role oversees the end-to-end global supply chain, international procurement, and inbound logistics operations for a prominent multinational food manufacturing enterprise. It ensures an uninterrupted flow of vital agricultural commodities, specialized ingredients, packaging materials, and manufacturing machinery across global borders to meet rigid production targets. The manager navigates volatile foreign exchange dynamics, international trade policies, letters of credit (LCs), and cross-border customs regulations while enforcing food-grade compliance standards. Close coordination with international suppliers, banks, customs authorities, shipping lines, and local plant operations is essential to protect lead times and mitigate global supply risks. Ultimately, the position optimizes import expenditures, eliminates port demurrage costs, and guarantees resilient inbound supply continuity to fuel large-scale manufacturing excellence.

    Responsibilities & Context
  • Global Sourcing & Vendor Negotiation: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate commercial terms with international suppliers for raw materials, food ingredients, and packaging supplies to secure optimal pricing and favorable payment terms.
  • Import LC & Financial Documentation: Manage end-to-end import trade finance operations, overseeing Letter of Credit (LC) issuance, bank endorsements, amendments, and foreign exchange compliance in accordance with international banking laws.
  • Customs Clearance & Port Operations: Direct customs clearance workflows across sea, air, and land ports, coordinating closely with C&F agents and customs officials to eliminate port demurrage and container detention fees.
  • Freight Management & Carrier Contracts: Negotiate high-volume ocean and air freight agreements, evaluate shipping lines and 3PL partners, and optimize global logistics routes for cost efficiency and lead-time reliability.
  • Regulatory & Food Safety Compliance: Ensure all imported consignments strictly comply with national food safety guidelines, BSTI/import certification requirements, phytosanitary standards, and tariff classifications.
