Job Description
  • This role leads frontline dining floor operations to deliver polished, seamless guest experiences during high-volume shifts. It acts as an operational anchor, guiding junior service staff while handling VIP guests and complex dining requests. The senior waiter ensures flawless order coordination, table pacing, and accurate menu storytelling across the dining room. Close alignment with kitchen expeditors and the bar team prevents service delays and order errors. Ultimately, it upholds rigorous service standards, drives beverage and food upselling, and secures guest loyalty.

    Responsibilities & Context
  • VIP & Floor Leadership: Oversee designated dining sections, personally attend to VIP guests, and ensure service steps flow smoothly.
  • Menu Knowledge & Upselling: Present daily specials, explain complex ingredients or pairings, and drive sales through suggestive selling techniques.
  • Junior Staff Mentorship: Guide, train, and support junior waiters and runners on table etiquette, tray handling, and service standards.
  • Order & Timing Coordination: Relay special dietary requests to the kitchen and monitor meal pacing to prevent service bottlenecks.
  • Guest Issue Resolution: Handle minor guest complaints and service snags on the floor promptly before escalating to management.
  • Billing & Cash Handling: Manage table closures, split checks accurately, process payments, and balance shift cash transactions.
  • Floor Readiness & Standards: Inspect side stations, table setups, and cutlery cleanliness before, during, and after shifts to maintain strict hygiene.
