Job Description
  • Pabna Protishsruti is a nonprofit development organization working to promote sustainable livelihoods, environmental protection, and community development. The organization is implementing the SMART Project sub-project titled "Promoting Sustainable Growth in Loom Sub-Sector through RECP Practices." The project is jointly financed by the World Bank, Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF), and Pabna Protishsruti to improve resource efficiency and environmentally sustainable microenterprise development. The selected Environment and Social Officer will support environmental management, climate-resilient practices, and occupational health and safety activities within the project. The position requires regular field monitoring, technical training, stakeholder coordination, and reporting to ensure effective project implementation.

    Responsibilities & Context
  • Assist the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, monitoring, and implementing environmental and social management activities.
  • Promote Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) practices among microenterprises in the loom sub-sector.
  • Conduct training and awareness programs on environmental protection, climate resilience, and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS).
  • Monitor resource consumption, energy efficiency, water management, wastewater, waste management, and environmental compliance.
  • Prepare and implement Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMP) and support environmental assessments.
  • Conduct regular field visits, collect environmental performance data, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with government authorities, project partners, community stakeholders, and Environment Clubs to support project objectives.
