Job Description

Family Support Centre (FSC) is recruiting two Legal Officers to strengthen its legal support and protection services in the Solomon Islands. The selected candidates will provide legal assistance to individuals affected by gender-based violence, domestic violence, and human rights violations. The role involves legal research, case documentation, and coordination with relevant service providers. Candidates will support survivor-centered legal services while maintaining confidentiality and professional standards. The position requires legal knowledge, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to protecting vulnerable individuals.

Responsibilities & Context

Provide legal advice and assistance to clients seeking support on domestic violence, child protection, and human rights matters.

Conduct legal research and interpret relevant laws, regulations, and legal procedures.

Prepare legal documents, case reports, statements, and other necessary legal correspondence.

Support clients in understanding their legal rights, available remedies, and relevant legal processes.

Coordinate with legal practitioners, government authorities, and relevant protection service providers.

Maintain confidential client records and ensure appropriate case documentation and follow-up.

Support legal awareness activities and promote survivor-centered approaches to legal assistance.
