Job Description
  • NRBC Bank PLC is seeking an accomplished Head of Audit to lead its internal audit and inspection operations. The selected candidate will develop and implement risk-based audit strategies to strengthen governance, accountability, and regulatory compliance. The role involves evaluating internal controls, credit operations, financial activities, and operational risk management processes. The candidate will provide independent audit findings and recommendations to senior management and the Board Audit Committee. This senior leadership position requires extensive banking experience, professional independence, and strong analytical decision-making abilities.

    Responsibilities & Context
  • Develop and implement the bank's Risk-Based Internal Audit (RBIA) framework and annual audit plan.
  • Lead internal audit and inspection activities across branches, sub-branches, Head Office, and other operational units.
  • Review credit appraisal, approval, documentation, disbursement, monitoring, and recovery processes to identify potential risks.
  • Evaluate financial operations, internal controls, regulatory compliance, and the effectiveness of risk management procedures.
  • Investigate suspected fraud, irregularities, unauthorized transactions, policy violations, and other operational weaknesses.
  • Prepare comprehensive audit reports and present significant findings, risk assessments, and corrective recommendations to the Board Audit Committee and senior management.
  • Supervise audit teams, monitor corrective action implementation, and strengthen professional audit standards and governance practices.
