Job Context

• The Wash Technician holds the accountability for the assigned area of garment washing (wet/dry processing) effectively, ensuring optimum utilization of resources in order to meet the planned production targets whilst maintaining required quality standards, minimizing if not eliminating all forms of waste, and meeting customer requirements.

Job Responsibilities

• Evaluate wash houses and have good knowledge of their capacity, capabilities, strengths and weaknesses and improve wash house standards
• Analyze the technical details of wash and laundries with supplier before production to secure best product within timeline for shipment
• Maintain close contact with chemical/machinery suppliers and wash houses in order to follow closely what kind of new wash methods and innovation they are working on
• Develop of new wash methods and find out the recipes/ processes
• Liaise with the production team from the development stage in order to foresee production bottlenecks and quality problems
• Conduct risk analysis of new wash effects in order to foresee potential problems
• Develop alternate solutions on recipes/ work methods/ suppliers in order to achieve best wash results within best quality/ lead-time/ desirable pricing
• Follow up during sample development to resolve any wash issues
• Conduct production follow up with washing plants and solve problems during bulk production
• Source different washing plants and get price ideas
• Co-ordinate with Quality and Merchandising Team to make recipes records and archive for future reference
• Communicate with customers for different types of wash approval
• Develop the samples with required wash/treatment along with several propositions

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in in Textile Engineering, Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Graduate in Textile Engineering (Wet Processing) from a well reputed institute
