Job Description
  • Bangladesh Midwifery Society (BMS) is a professional membership organization established in 2010 and registered with the Department of Women’s Affairs. BMS supports midwives and promotes quality midwifery services throughout Bangladesh. To strengthen its organizational capacity, BMS is seeking to engage a Midwife – Technical Officer to support technical, operational and programmatic functions.
  • Purpose of the Role
  • She will contribute to midwifery leadership development, strengthen internal organizational processes, enhance member engagement, and support project implementation.

    Responsibilities & Context
  • Ensure functionality of BMS committees through coordination, documentation, and regular meetings.
  • Lead membership-related activities, including new member enrollment, renewals, and member engagement strategies.
  • Organize meetings, draft meeting notes,
  • Write visit reports, committee/divisional reports, letters, official notices and memorandums.
  • Identify report and address issues and concerns raised by BMS members.
  • Support the execution of BMS’s advocacy work plan.
  • Coordinate with BMS staff to ensure smooth operational and financial activities.
  • Develop and update a personal work plan and share regular reports with the President and project manager.
  • Organize and facilitate training sessions and support Continuing Professional Development (CPD) initiatives.
  • Implement the Young Midwife Leadership (YML) and internship Program
  • Represent BMS at the stakeholder meetings
  • Involvement and promotion of Midwifery Led Care Centers/Union sub Centers
